Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is hiring an HLD Technician I in New Jersey to join the growing team. You will receive guidance from supervisors and preceptors to perform high-level disinfection of instrumentation, decontaminate, and prepare sterile equipment for procedures.

Hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with on-call required. The role emphasizes adherence to safety, cleanliness, and documentation of processing steps according to policy and procedure manuals.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must acquire endoscope reprocessing certification within 12 months of hire date.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to read, comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination and High-Level Disinfection of instrumentation and equipment.
• Receive, sort, inspect, and decontaminate procedural instrumentation and record processing steps.
• Operate cleaning equipment and perform routine tests per manufacturer guidelines and national standards.
• Document tasks via instrument tracking system and ensure packaging integrity.
• Prepare, sterilize, and store instruments and scopes following MIFUs and policies.
• Assist with auxiliary Sterile Processing tasks as needed and directed.
