Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Hitch Service Technician at the Chattanooga location to assist customers by explaining towing options and installing the appropriate tow package. The role emphasizes hands-on technical work and excellent service in a fast-paced retail setting.

Requirements include a valid driver’s license and basic wiring/hand tools experience; candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate safely around equipment.

• Basic wiring and hand/power tool experience.

Responsibilities

• Understand and explain U-Haul’s towing packages.
• Recommend and install the right tow package on customer vehicles.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support to U-Haul customers.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

Hitch Service Technician Primary Responsibilities:

• Understand and explain U-Haul’s variety of towing packages
• Recommend and install the right tow package on customer vehicles
• Provide exceptional customer service and support to U-Haul customers.

• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University

Requirements:

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationery, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
