Job summary

U-Haul in Concord, CA is seeking a Hitch Service Technician to join our team. In this role you will inspect and install tow packages, explain options to customers, and ensure safe, high-quality service at our Moving and Storage Center.

You will use basic wiring and hand/power tools, maintain a valid driver's license, and complete ongoing training through U-Haul University. This on-site position offers competitive pay and opportunities for growth within the company.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and explain U-Haul’s towing packages.
  • Recommend and install the right tow package on customer vehicles.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to U-Haul customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Understand and explain U-Haul’s variety of towing packages
  • Recommend and install the right tow package on customer vehicles
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to U-Haul customers.

Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record
  • Basic wiring and hand/power tool experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Environment: The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands: The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationery, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
