Job summary

Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System is hiring a Per Diem Histotechnologist to work in their clinical laboratory. The successful candidate will perform a variety of technical procedures, maintain instrumentation, and ensure quality control standards. Candidates should have an Associate's degree in Histotechnology, with a Bachelor's preferred, and a good understanding of laboratory procedures.

This role demands strong interpersonal skills and leadership qualities, as you will assist in training new employees. A commitment to confidentiality and quality improvement in laboratory work is essential.

Qualifications

  • HT Certification by a minimum standards exam like HT(ASCP) is preferred.
  • Experience with high-complexity testing is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of technical procedures for creating microscopic slide preparations.
  • Investigate and evaluate new procedures in the lab.
  • Assist in managing records and preparing reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adequate staffing in the lab.
  • Utilize computer applications for data entry and reporting.
