University of Miami is seeking a Histotechnologist 2 to join the UHealth Laboratories team at the UTower Hospital in Miami, FL. The role involves preparing tissues from surgical specimens for histology, electron microscopy, and immunohistochemistry under supervision of senior staff.

The incumbent will perform tissue processing, sectioning, and quality control, ensuring accurate results and compliance with hospital procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a relevant field.
• Current Florida Medical Technologist License Histotechnologist.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsabilités

• Prepares tissue specimens for microscopic examination and handles complex immunohistochemistry tasks for clinical diagnosis.
• Maintains and reviews quality control in the laboratory facilities.
• Determines test result acceptability and instrument function.
• Maintains equipment and places orders for reagents and materials.
• Keeps records of samples including accessioning and slides/files.
• Follows specimen handling and processing procedures and policies.
