Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Nashville is seeking a Histotechnologist for the 3rd shift within the Department of Anatomic Pathology. You will prepare tissue specimens and perform specialized histo- and immunocytochemistry testing under guidance to support patient diagnosis.

You will train and mentor Histotechnologists and Technicians, maintain quality control records, and handle high-volume workload including stat requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Histotechnologist certification (ASCP) required or eligible.
• Experience in histology and immunocytochemistry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily workload including embedding, cutting, and staining.
• Performs and documents instrument maintenance and quality control.
• Trains and supports Histotechnologists and Histotechnicians.
• Identifies tissue adequacy in the operating room and communicates findings to physicians.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
