Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Histology or high school diploma with 1+ year histology experience.
• Preferred: 3+ months histology experience and 3+ months immunohistochemistry experience.
• Histology certifications (ASCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic exam.
• Prepare histopathological slides from surgical specimens.
• Section tissue with a microtome and mount onto slides.
• Perform immunohistochemical tests on tissue sections.
• Process slides with routine and special staining procedures.
• Embed and orient surgical tissue specimens.
• Prepare stains and reagents for procedures.
• Report accurate test results to support patient care.
• Operate and maintain manual and automated instruments.
• Document equipment maintenance and log data.
• Adhere to quality control policies and procedures.
• Follow specimen handling and processing procedures.
