Job summary

Oklahoma Christian University invites adjuncts to teach World or US History in the fall and spring terms. Adjuncts are instructors-of-record responsible for planning lessons, developing assignments, grading, and delivering classes as scheduled.

Responsibilities include office hours, timely email responses, course evaluations, and meeting deadlines set by the College of Liberal Arts and the department. Salary is commensurate with degree level.

Qualifications

• Master’s and/or doctorate in an appropriate discipline is required.
• Higher education teaching experience is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, and build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• The successful candidate must be an active member of a local church.
• Must be available for morning, afternoon, and/or evening sessions as assigned.
• Requires the ability to interact professionally with supervisors, colleagues, and students while exercising tact, discretion, and independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons, develop assignments and activities, grade and return student work, and hold classes as scheduled by the University.
• Organize office hours, answer emails promptly, administer course evaluations, and meet deadlines set by the College of Liberal Arts and departmental deadlines.
