Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our Histology team in Shelton, CT. The role involves performing technical grossing, operating tissue processors, and staining for microscopic analysis under pathologist supervision.

New grads welcomed; comprehensive training provided. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, with preference for ASCP/AMT certification and lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science or medical technology.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform all technical grossing procedures for specimen processing and microscopic review under supervision of pathologists.
• Operate and maintain automated tissue processors and perform tissue embedding and cryostat sectioning.
• Operate H&E and IHC stainers, perform manual cover slipping and staining.
• Provide recut preparation and organize slides for pathology case compilation.
• Quality control completed cases and maintain case logs.
