Job summary

One Brooklyn Health System Inc. is seeking a Histotechnologist to perform complex laboratory procedures, including tissue processing, slide preparation, and quality control.

You will train and develop lab staff, handle grossing of biopsies, and ensure compliance with NYS licensure requirements. The role requires strong supervision skills, accuracy in reporting, and adherence to safety standards in a busy histology lab.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in science or approved histology program completed.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with certification or licensure.
• Knowledgeable in handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
• Ability to supervise others and work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process tissue for histology and cytology review.
• Gross biopsies and small specimens as required.
• Prepare slides using tissue processors, stainers, and coverslippers.
• Maintain quality control checks and document parameters like temperatures.
