Job summary

Beacon Hill Life Sciences is actively recruiting a Histotechnologist for a 6-month contract in Cambridge, MA. This 100% onsite role requires hands-on tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining in a hospital pathology environment.

Responsibilities include paraffin processing, microtomy, H&E staining, slide scanning, ELN documentation, and maintaining lab spaces and instruments. A biology degree with histology experience is required; ASCP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology or related field.
• 5+ years histology experience; hospital pathology lab experience preferred.
• Histology certification and/or ASCP certifications are preferred.
• Detail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gross, process, and embed tissues in paraffin.
• Cut sections by microtome or cryostat.
• Print cassettes and organize blocks.
• Perform H&E and other special staining.
• Scan slides.
• Record projects through ELN (Electronic Lab Notebook).
• Maintain lab areas and instruments.

Duration: At least 6 months, possibility of extension

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Location: Cambridge, MA (100% onsite required)

Responsibilities:

• Gross, process, and embedding tissues in paraffin
• Cut sections by microtome or cryostat
• Print cassettes and organize blocks
• Perform H&E and other special staining
• Scan slides
• Record projects through Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN)
• Maintain lab areas and instruments

Qualitifcations:

• Bachelor's degree in biology, or related discipline or equivalent education
• 5+ years of histology experience (hospital pathology lab experience preferred)
• Histology and/or ASCP certifications are preferred.
• Detail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
