Job summary

Charles River Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Technician I in North Olmsted, Ohio. The role focuses on learning onboarding skills for histology tasks, tissue handling, embedding, microtomy, slide preparation and staining, under close supervision to gain proficiency.

As part of a team, you will support data collection, quality control, and use of lab instrumentation while adhering to GLP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements. Overtime and shift flexibility are expected.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities to achieve goals.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without a sponsor visa.

Responsibilities

• Ensure humane care for animals and maintain welfare.
• Train in histology skills including tissue handling, slide preparation and staining.
• Inventory, data collection and quality control.
• Use and maintain instrumentation and equipment.
• Follow GLP, SOP, BOP and IACUC requirements.
• Work extended hours including evenings/weekends as needed.
