Job Overview

We are seeking a Histology Technician I at our Safety Assessment site located in Reno, NV.

As a Histology Technician, you will mainly be responsible to prepare tissues for microscopic analysis. Your success will ensure the smooth running of our research, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies. Performs aspects of tissue processing (debridement, dissection, cutting, cleaning and disinfection, sizing, assessing), and aspects of packaging and preservation of tissue products (confirmation of sizing, quality, packaging materials, cryopreservation, etc.).

Prepares testing equipment and assists with preventative maintenance. Embeds and/ or re-embeds processed tissue in paraffin. Performs post-processing decontamination of equipment and the processing room according to current procedures and protocols. May prepare and organize written data, printouts, and other documents for pathologist review.

  • Prepare necessary material requested by procedures.
  • Operate necessary laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare chemical reagents.

We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role:

  • College Degree in Science, Biotechnology, or any other related field preferred.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to details.
  • Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.).
  • Understanding of written English is mandatory.
Role Specific Information
