Pride Health is seeking a Histotechnician for a contract assignment at a medical facility in White Plains, NY. The role supports routine histology work, slide preparation for pathologists, and documentation of specimen handling.

The position offers a Monday-Friday 1st shift, with a pay range of $50-$55 per hour and a potential extension. Ideal candidates will perform embedding, microtomy, H&E staining, coverslipping, special stains as needed, and maintain laboratory cleanliness and compliance

Qualifications

• Experience with histology processing and slide preparation.
• Ability to document specimen handling accurately.
• Familiarity with CLIA and CAP requirements a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine histology procedures to prepare tissue slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologists.
• Process and maintain accurate paperwork related to specimen accessioning and reporting.
• Ensure proper tissue processing in accordance with established laboratory procedures.
• Perform embedding and microtomy for designated specimen types, as authorized by the Histology Manager or Supervisor.
• Prepare slides for routine Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining.
• Perform manual or automated coverslipping of stained slides.
• Perform special stains as approved or directed by the Histology Manager or Supervisor.
• Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment.
• File and maintain completed tissue blocks and slides in accordance with laboratory procedures.
• Follow laboratory quality control policies and accurately document all required quality control activities.
• Ensure compliance with corporate safety standards, quality assurance policies, and quality control procedures.
• Adhere to applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as CLIA and College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
