Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville in Cartersville, Georgia is seeking a Histology Tech for PRN coverage. You will cut, stain and prepare tissue samples for the pathologist to review, prioritize testing, and maintain accurate records in accordance with policy.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma with histology training and ASCP HT/HTL certification; recent grads with clinical lab exposure are welcome. Georgia licensure requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required plus college/technical courses and/or clinical histology training to satisfy ASCP HT/HTL requirements.
• Recent graduate from an accredited histology program and/or one year of technical experience in a surgical pathology laboratory.
• Certification as Histotechnologist/Histotechnician per ASCP or state regulations; 18-month temporary eligibility if relocating.
• Three years experience in a surgical pathology lab (additional qualification).

Responsibilities

• Cut, stain and prepare tissue samples for pathologist review; prioritize testing procedures and complete procedures accurately and timely; maintain proper records per policies.
