Piedmont Columbus Midtown is hiring a Histology Technician/Technologist (PRN) in Columbus, GA. The role prepares tissue samples, performs cutting, staining and related procedures for the pathologist to review.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED. Recent histology graduates are welcome, and ASCP HT certification is expected or eligible upon hire; temporary GA status may be offered to complete the exam within 18 months.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required; recent graduate from accredited histology program acceptable.
• Or 1 year of technical experience in surgical pathology.
• 3 years experience in surgical pathology preferred.
• HT - ASCP certification required or eligible; GA regulations apply.
• Recent GA move or training allow 18-month temporary technologist/technician status to complete exam in 1.5 years.

Responsibilities

• The Histotechnician/Histotechnologist is responsible for cutting, staining and preparing tissue samples for the pathologist to review.
• Prioritize testing procedures and complete those procedures accurately and in a timely manner, and maintain proper records of all tests per policies and regulations.
