Hendrick Medical Center is seeking a Histology Lab Assistant to perform daily lab and clerical duties in the Anatomic Pathology department. The role includes transcribing pathologists' dictations, tracking specimens sent to external labs, and coordinating case paperwork and slides for delivery to pathologists.

Additional duties involve answering phones, preparing documents, collaborating with lab staff, and supporting pathologists and the lab director in various tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• One year previous experience in the medical field with a strong background in medical terminology.
• Experience in medical transcription is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Transcribe and transcribe dictations from pathologists.
• Process and track pathology material sent to outside labs for testing.
• Coordinate surgical, cytological, and bone marrow case paperwork and slides for delivery to pathologist.
• Answer phones, prepare documents, and assist pathologists and lab director as needed.
