Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Histopathology division is seeking a detail-oriented team member to accession specimens and patient tissue materials for testing, packaging and preparing them for referral laboratories with minimal guidance.

You will collaborate with laboratory staff and external customers, providing basic customer service, and performing clerical tasks while supporting the quality and safety standards that underpin Vanderbilt Health's reputation for excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in histology or laboratory support is a plus.
• Ability to work with laboratory staff and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Sort, triage, receive, send, process and batch specimens.
• Pre-analytical processing of samples for testing.
• Provide general clerical support.
• Additional duties may be assigned.
