Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Lab Assistant I for Histology in Pompano Beach, FL, working Tuesday through Saturday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The role involves basic histology sample preparation, labeling, tissue handling, and slide processing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
• Some College courses in Science preferred.
• Basic knowledge of operating non-complex instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare histopathology slides under general supervision following policies and procedures.
• Receive/collect, label and prepare tissue specimens for gross dissection.
• Process paperwork associated with accessioning and reporting.
• Monitor inventory, requisition supplies prior to depletion; stock and maintain lab supplies.
• Clean, sterilize, organize and maintain work area, glassware and equipment.
• Perform coverslipping of stained slides both manually and automated.
• Responsible for all assigned clerical duties.
• Comply with health, quality and safety policies, procedures and practices; use PPE.
• Other duties as assigned.
