Job summary

Kelly Education is hiring substitute teachers for Hastings School District to support students in a flexible, mission-driven environment.

As a substitute teacher, you’ll collaborate with lead teachers to implement lesson plans, adapt to diverse learning needs, and help students stay engaged and supported throughout the day. The role offers weekly pay, paid orientation, and opportunities to grow with Kelly Education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Must pass a background check.
• MDE Substitute Teaching License or Tier 3/4 Teaching License. If not licensed but have a Bachelor’s degree, you can apply for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with lead teachers to implement lesson plans and provide support to students with diverse learning needs.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported.
• Assist students in understanding and completing assignments, reinforcing classroom instruction while promoting social and emotional development.
• Substitute teachers may also be referred to as substitute educator, guest teacher, or relief teacher.

Minimum Requirements

Substitute Teacher

• Bachelors degree or higher
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) Substitute Teaching License OR Tier 3 or 4 Teaching License. If you are not yet licensed but hold a Bachelor’s degree in any subject, you are eligible to apply for licensure! Let us know and we can help connect you with the MDE.

Pay rates

• Teacher: $200/day
