Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for PACU in New Jersey. The role focuses on comprehensive patient assessment, development of individualized care plans, and collaboration with physicians and the broader clinical team.

Two years of PACU experience in an acute care setting is required. NJ RN license and BCLS are mandatory, ACLS/PALS are preferred. This on-site role offers opportunities for professional development within a supportive hospital environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years' PACU experience in an acute care setting.
  • LPN/ RN licensure as applicable in NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Performs assessment/data collection focusing on physiologic, cognitive and cultural diversity of the patient.
  • Applies knowledge of illness and uses resources in assessment processes.
  • Provides written assessment of patient on admission and as needed under policy.
  • Forms goal-directed care plans and prioritizes resource use.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other clinicians in planning interventions.
  • Implements plan of care and nursing interventions per standards.
  • Documents nursing interventions and patient/family needs.
  • Evaluates patient response and revises plan of care accordingly.
  • Participates in staff development and performance improvement activities.
  • Works with healthcare team and performs other duties as required.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, cognitive and cultural diversity of the patient.
  • Applies knowledge of illness, injuries and diseases and uses available resources in assessment processes.
  • Provides written assessment of patient on admission and subsequently; based on patient need and IMC policy.
  • Formulates a goal directed, individualized plan of care, prioritizes and utilizes efficient resources as developed from documented nursing diagnoses/patient care and outcomes.
  • Collaborates as appropriate with physician and other clinical disciplines in planning interventions to meet patient and family needs.
  • Implements plan of care, executing nursing interventions in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures.
  • Intervenes with proper technique, procedure and safety precautions to meet individual needs of patients and families.
  • Documents nursing interventions provided to meet assessed patient/family needs.
  • Evaluates and documents patient response to and outcome of care provided and revises plan of care accordingly.
  • Participates actively in staff development activities for unit and provides support and guidance to colleagues.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities for hospital and unit/service.
  • Works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Experience:
  • Minimum two (2) years' PACU experience in an acute care setting.
Licenses, Certifications:
  • Current NJ State RN License required
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)/ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
