Job description

Capitol Water Corporation is looking for a drinking water operator class I and class II Or will provide training via the Idaho Rural Water Association.

Work includes water sampling, meter reading and facility maintenance and generalwater works duties. You’ll also assist with managing equipment and supply inventory tokeep operations running smoothly.

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience performing facilities maintenance
  • Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training
  • Drinking Water Operator Class I license.
Licensing And Other Requirements
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
Essential Functions

Handles moderately complex issues and problems.Maintains a safe, clean and orderly work environment. Operates light- to medium-equipment to load and unload trucks, dig trenches, transport materials within a facilityand perform snow removal.

Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restrictsmanagement's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position atany time.

Additional Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training

Knowledge of general facilities maintenance to include minor electrical, plumbing andconstruction methods and safety standards; blueprint reading; hard surfacemaintenance and repair; general landscape care; and trench construction.

Ability to: perform varied facilities maintenance and cleaning; operate a wide variety ofequipment and tools including mowers and drills safely; utilize related protective gearand safety equipment; identify and prioritize additional tasks; communicate effectively inthe English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; and perform allessential functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or managerwith or without reasonable accommodation.

Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable drivingrecord.

Physical Efforts

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally lifting/carrying up to35 pounds and rarely lifting/carrying up to 75 pounds. Also, the employee isoccasionally pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds and rarely pushing/pulling up to 50pounds.

Light digging is required.

The noise level is occasionally moderate and rarely loud. Work includes sensory abilityto talk, hear, smell and touch. Work in this position also includes close vision, distancevision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Employees will sit, stand, walk, run,stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, climb and balance. Position requireshand/finger dexterity.

The work environment will include inside conditions and outdoor weather conditions,extreme temperatures, in wet and humid conditions, confined areas around mechanicalequipment.
