Job summary

Alliance Health Center in Meridian, Mississippi, is a 154-bed acute care psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital offering programs for adults, adolescents, and seniors. We are seeking a PRN-as-needed Medical Records Tech to support the HIM team in discharge analyses and information release.

Under the HIM director, you will perform discharge analyses, identify deficiencies, and handle general medical record tasks in a non-remote position, aligned with hospital policies and HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Medical Records Coding, Medical Records Technology/Assistant or related field or equivalent experience, preferred.
• Minimum of one year's experience in medical records preferred
• Strong organizational and computer skills a must
• Ability to work in a confidential manner and observe all rules of HIPAA
• Must enjoy working with the public and possess excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Perform discharge analysis of each discharge and identify deficiencies.
• Release of information and general medical record functions.
• Adhere to HIM policies and ensure accuracy of medical records.

The facility offers treatment programs for adults and adolescents and has a unique program track specifically for seniors. The Alliance campus is also home to The Crossings, a 60-bed residential treatment facility for adolescents.

Responsibilities

Located in Meridian, Mississippi, Alliance Health Center is a 154-bed acute care psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital. The facility offers treatment programs for adults and adolescents and has a unique program track specifically for seniors. The Alliance campus is also home to The Crossings, a 60-bed residential treatment facility for adolescents.

For over 40 years, Alliance has been dedicated to serving individuals with acute mental and behavioral health disorders and addiction issues across the state of Mississippi and Alabama. Specific programs are provided for patients according to their diagnosis and age. Our behavioral health programs are offered to all ages from adolescents to seniors. Detoxification, dual diagnosis and New Leaf Recovery are offered to individuals ages 18 and up. We have a full spectrum of addiction services, from detoxification to our 30-day New Leaf Recovery program. We also offer dual diagnosis programming for those with mental illness and substance abuse.

Alliance Health Center is looking for a PRN-as needed Medical Records Tech. This is not a remote position. Under the direction of the HIM director, this employee is responsible for performing discharge analysis of each discharge, identification of deficiencies, release of information and general medical record functions. Performs all duties within the department to ensure the success of the HIM team and adherence to hospital policies.
