Job summary

Amentum in Detroit is seeking a HiL Systems Engineer to develop HiL applications for vehicle, system and sub-system testing. You will manage the design, evaluation, and integration of HiL technologies to meet business needs.

You will collaborate with Ford engineers, upgrade test stand infrastructure, and implement test automation, data collection and reporting, while delivering specifications for new equipment.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering is required.
• Experience with dSPACE, Vector CANoe / CANalyzer, LabVIEW.
• Knowledge of electronics and electrical instrumentation including signal conditioning.
• Excellent leadership, communications and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team.
• Expertise integrating HiL control systems with third party actuators, PLCs.
• Ability to develop and present business cases to upper management.

Responsibilities

• Develop HiL applications to support vehicle, system and sub-system testing.
• Manage and direct the design, evaluation, selection, and integration of HiL technologies to meet the needs of the business.
• Participate in HiL technical architecture and design decision making process.
• Upgrade and diagnose test stand infrastructure as required.
• Provide expert knowledge for the management and integration of HiL infrastructure.
• Integrate HiL control strategies into existing mechanical test systems.
• Interact with Ford engineers and technicians to ensure proper support and data integrity.
• Develop and implement test automation functions such as test setup, test execution, data collection and report generation and storage.
• Participate in development of new equipment specifications to meet testing requirements.
• Previous experience with dSPACE, Vector CANoe / CANalyzer, LabVIEW.
• Knowledge of electronics and signal conditioning.
• Excellent leadership, communications and interpersonal skills; teamwork.
• Knowledge in automotive technologies, test & measurement technologies.
• HiL control system integration with third party actuators, PLCs.
• Ability to develop and deliver business cases and presentations to upper management.
