Job summary

Hiland Dairy Foods, LLC in Mercedes, Texas is seeking a Full Time Sales Route Driver to deliver and stock dairy products at retail accounts along the route, verify shipments, set up displays, and maintain delivery documentation while following DOT safety rules.

The ideal candidate has at least six months of verifiable commercial driving, a valid CDL Class A or B, can pass a DOT physical and drug test, and maintains a clean driving record; willingness to relocate is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class A or B CDL and be 21+ years old.
• At least 6 months verifiable commercial driving experience.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen.
• Past route sales experience and a good driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, unload, and deliver products to each account.
• Drive truck over established route to deliver, stock, and stage products at customer locations.
• Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays and deliver promotional material to customers.
• Verify shipment accuracy and salable condition of the product.
• Resolve discrepancies and customer complaints.
• Collect empty containers, and rejected, or unsold merchandise for a return.
• Complete daily inventory, orders, delivery invoices, and proof of delivery as required.
• Perform Motor Vehicle Inspections on trucks to conform to DOT regulations and company policy and assist with routine maintenance on trucks.
• Exhibit courteousness toward customers, and work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Maintain a neat appearance and follow established policies and the direction of management.
• Maintain vehicle and hours of service logs as required by DOT.
• Maintain reliable attendance and consistent work hours.

Salary Range: $68,900.00 To $68,900.00 Annually

The Sales Route Driver is responsible for the delivery and restocking of products to retail stores and/or wholesale distribution locations.

Responsibilities:

• Safely load, unload, and deliver products to each account.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Six months of verifiable experience driving Class A or Class B commercial vehicles preferred.
• Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data required.
• Must have a Class A or B commercial driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass a D.O.T. Physical and Drug Screen
• Experience: Past route sales experience and a good driving record preferred
• Must Pass clearinghouse.
• Minimum Age: 21, as per Federal D.O.T. regulations
• Experience in product delivery and customer service preferred.
• Open to relocating or transferring to other locations as dictated by the operational requirements of the business.

Physical Demand/Working Conditions:

• Mustbe able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend.
• The route sales driver will have to stack and unstack items weighing 50 pounds from a height of approximately six feet to the ground and back continually as well as drag stacks of milk weighing approximately 240 pounds, throughout the shift.
• Load and unload truck and carry merchandise.
• Required to work in very hot (100°+) and very cool (less than 32°) environments throughout the year.
• Required to work outside most of the time, regardless of the conditions.
