Job summary

State of Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is seeking qualified candidates for Highway Operations roles across the Phoenix area. The entry-level Highway Operations Worker will learn to operate vehicles and perform pavement and landscape maintenance while supporting road safety and service to the public.

Advanced Tech levels provide progression to Tech 1/2/3 with increasing responsibilities, including scheduling, supervising, and compliance duties.

Qualifications

• 6 months of roadway/highway job-related experience for Highway Operations Worker.
• 1 year of roadway/highway experience for Tech 1.
• 2 years of roadway/highway experience for Tech 2.
• 3 years of roadway/highway experience for Tech 3.

Responsibilities

• Operate motorized vehicles and equipment; perform pavement care and preservation; landscape care and preservation; roadside restoration and repairs; signing and striping; deliver equipment and materials; ensure environmental compliance.
