Abacus Solution Group is seeking a Highway Maintenance Technician for full-time work in Buffalo, TX, performing highway maintenance and cleanup while complying with regulations and company policies. You will report to the Buffalo Yard daily and may occasionally report to the Huntsville, TX office.

Required include a valid Texas driver’s license, ability to read/write/speak Spanish, a clean driving record, and passing a criminal background check.

Job description

Abacus is currently seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicianto perform highway maintenance operations in Buffalo, TX.

TThis position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance cleanup and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures. Will report to Buffalo Yard daily, and occasionally report to the office in Huntsville, TX.

Required:

• Valid Texas Drivers License
• Must be able to read, write, and speak Spanish
• Clean driving record is essential
• Must pass criminal background check

Preferred Experience:

• Roadway maintenance experience
• Herbicide experience
• MOT Certifications (traffic control)
• Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, ForkLift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator
• Concrete forming/repair experience
• CDL A License a plus

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smart phone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
