Job summary

DCSAM is seeking a Highway Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of highway maintenance tasks under supervision. Training will cover Highway/Roadway Routine Maintenance and related duties.

The role requires a High School diploma, a valid driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving, and the ability to work in adverse weather, lift moderately heavy objects, and operate hand and power tools. Pay rate is $16.00/hour with benefits and PTO.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license and clean driving record for 3+ years.
• Able to work in adverse weather conditions and lift moderately heavy objects.
• Be able to bend, climb, stand, stoop, or walk for long periods.
• Demonstrates accurate eye-hand coordination and adaptability to changing work plans.

Responsibilities

• Clean and clear culverts.
• Mow/clear brush from roadsides.
• Patch broken or eroded pavements and shoulders.
• Assist in storm cleanup.
• Repair fences and signs.
• Remove litter/debris.
• Respond to emergencies.
• Operate equipment used in Highway Maintenance.
• Utilize hand tools (shovels, rakes, etc.).
• Operate power tools (chainsaws, weed eaters, etc.).

Job Description

DCS Asset Maintenance is seeking a skilled Highway Maintenance Technician to conduct a variety of Highway Maintenance Services, as well as other related tasks under close supervision. We are seeking a qualified applicant that will train in Highway/Roadway Routine Maintenance.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Clean and clear culverts.
• Mowing, and clearing brush from roadsides.
• Patching broken or eroded pavements and shoulders.
• Assist in storm cleanup.
• Fence and sign repair.
• Litter/debris removal.
• Emergency response.
• Operate equipment used in Highway Maintenance.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, etc.
• Use power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers, etc.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE:

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving.
• Ableto work in adverse weather conditions.
• Able to lift moderately heavy objects.
• Be able to bend, climb, stand, stoop, or walk for long periods of time.
• Accurate eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations with work plans and work schedules due to workload or season display.
