Franklin County is seeking a Highway Technical Mechanic 1-5 in Union, MO to maintain and repair vehicles and heavy equipment. Duties include preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical/electrical issues, and repairs across engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and safety systems.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, four years of maintenance experience, and a valid CDL. Field repairs and in-shop work are possible, with safety and records management essential.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Four years of vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License required; Traffic Control Flagger may be required.

Mansioni

• Perform preventive maintenance on County vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical problems; prioritize repairs.
• Repair engines, transmissions, brakes, steering and power trains.
• Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, cooling systems and electrical subsystems.
• Order parts and maintain records of requisitions and inventory.
• Maintain safety inspections and report operational problems to supervisors.
• Provide backup to Highway staff and respond to emergencies.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and follow regulations.
