Job summary

Huron is seeking a Manager to lead interim and senior accounting roles within higher education institutions. You will plan, shape, and deliver finance solutions, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with engagement teams to drive results.

You will stabilize accounting, manage financial reporting, and contribute to system implementations while traveling up to 50% as required by client needs.

Qualifications

• U.S. work authorization required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent experience.
• MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
• CPA license preferred.
• Significant accounting and finance experience in consulting and/or higher education.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial management.
• Hands-on with Ellucian/Banner, Oracle, Workday or similar systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and work extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve in interim leadership and senior contributor roles for higher education institutions.
• Act as SME in accounting and budgeting with university operations and governance.
• Lead complex financial reporting issues and respond to inquiries.
• Develop project plans and maintain momentum for the project team.
• Train, mentor, and supervise client staff and engagement team members.
• Oversee close processes, reconciliations, budget support, and reporting.
• Support external audit coordination and strengthen internal controls.
• Contribute experience from finance system implementations or transitions.
