XP Power LLC in Irvine, CA is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to develop high voltage DC/DC converters, using modelling, simulation, and hardware testing. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, and reliability targets.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in high voltage design, magnetics experience, and hands-on verification. Strong English communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience in high voltage environments (above 2 kVDC) and magnetics.
• Experience with planar magnetics for HV DC/DC converters and HV PCB layouts.
• Ability to model, simulate, and test power electronics, and perform DFMEA.
• Strong documentation, problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of DC/DC high voltage power supplies above 2 kVDC up to 500W.
• Assist in taking products from concept through prototype to production.
• Ensure designs meet performance, schedule, cost and reliability targets.
• Collaborate with PCB layout, mechanical, manufacturing and quality teams.
• Perform circuit simulations, verification testing and data reporting.
• Prepare documentation for product release and change activities (SAP ECR/ECO).
