Job summary

Coho Technology Solutions is seeking a skilled High Voltage Electrician to support electrical infrastructure projects and operations for U.S. Navy installations in Washington, DC.

The ideal candidate will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair medium to high voltage distribution systems and associated equipment, including substations, transformers, and airfield lighting. Responsibilities include reading engineering drawings, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring strict adherence

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in high/medium voltage electrical work.
  • Proficient in electrical theory, circuit analysis, and system operations.
  • Completion of OSHA 10-Hour Construction Training within 45 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain medium voltage systems (1kV–35kV) and selected 69kV Navy systems.
  • Inspect, repair, and test electrical components including cables, switches, transformers, and beacons.
  • Troubleshoot issues using meters, meggers, ammeters, locators, and fault finders.
  • Read blueprints and engineering drawings to support installation and maintenance.
  • Follow safety protocols including LOTO, NFPA 70E, and PPE requirements.
  • Respond to service calls and emergencies to keep systems operational.
  • Maintain and repair airfield lighting systems and related controls.
  • Pull underground cables and terminate splices with proper sealing methods.
  • Review contractor work for NEC and OSHA compliance.
  • Operate Class B CDL and other heavy equipment as required.
