Job summary

The State of Louisiana is seeking an Electrician Specialist to perform advanced electrical work across field offices, warehouses, and marine structures. The role focuses on high voltage systems, motor starters, and complex controls, with on-call duties during emergencies as needed.

Reporting to the electrical specialist leader, you will maintain and repair critical infrastructure. Responsibilities include installing and maintaining wiring, inspecting equipment, and operating pumps and floodgates

Qualifications

• Electrical troubleshooting and repair of high voltage systems
• Experience with motor starters, switchgear and controls
• On-the-job experience in the electrical trade considered essential

Responsibilities

• Install, alter, maintain, and repair wiring systems for navigational gates, movable bridges, signals, meters and related equipment
• Inspect electrical equipment and controls; replace components as needed
• Troubleshoot and repair motor starters, switchgear and controls; ensure operation of sector gates and floodgates
• Operate marine craft and other electrical systems; support repairs to Flood Protection Authority-East assets
• Operate flood gates, pumps and motors during storms and maintenance events
