A leading insurance services firm in Los Angeles is hiring Independent Contractors as High Value Residential Insurance Inspectors. The role involves scheduling property surveys, managing reports, and interacting with homeowners and insurance agents. Ideal candidates should possess experience in insurance adjusting or construction and strong communication skills. This position allows for a flexible schedule and the chance to work primarily from home, with support provided by the Field Management team.

Job description

Signature Companies is hiring Independent Contractors (1099) in the Los Angeles area to serve as High Value Residential Insurance Inspectors. The role involves scheduling and conducting on‑site property surveys and reporting findings.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct on-site High Value Property Surveys.
• Coordinate and complete surveys within your own schedule.
• Manage work assignments and complete web‑based reports on time.
• Visit properties, take photographs and measurements, and note issues for the underwriter.
• Interact professionally with homeowners and insurance agents via phone, email, and in‑person.
• Identify and document construction materials, characteristics, and unique features.
• Obtain accurate measurements of structures on the property.
• Generate an estimated replacement value and identify major hazards.
• Communicate findings using Loss Control 360 through the Signature website.

Requirements

• Independent contractor status (1099).
• Experience in insurance adjusting, home appraisals, real estate, or construction (preferred).
• Experience with Rapid Sketch, Xactimate, CAD, or other diagramming programs is helpful.
• Prior underwriting or residential home inspection experience desirable.
• Loss control experience desirable.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Professionalism and entrepreneurial spirit.
• BA or BS degree desired (not required).
• Must have a smartphone, tablet, and personal computer.
• Reliable vehicle and Auto & General Liability Insurance.
• High‑speed internet, digital camera or smartphone with 16‑MP camera, and measuring devices (laser, tape, or wheel).
