Job summary

East Valley High School seeks an Assistant Wrestling Coach (.50 FTE) to lead the wrestling program under the Athletic Director, Head Wrestling Coach, and Building Principal. This seasonal role requires strong coaching skills, ethics, communication, and the ability to foster leadership and teamwork among student-athletes.

The position is season-based (11/16/2026 start) with eligibility for school athletic program support and community engagement.

Qualifications

• 5 years of coaching experience in the K-12 setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fundamentals, rules, safety and game management.
• Ability to organize and supervise a team program.
• Ability to communicate positively with students, parents, staff and media.
• Ability to motivate diverse personalities toward productive learning/playing experiences.
• Ability to analyze the game and create effective training sessions.

Responsibilities

• Teach the fundamentals of wrestling.
• Ensure safety, fair play, and proper equipment care.
• Hold practices to prepare players for competition.
• Maintain documentation for state and district requirements.
• Monitor scholastic eligibility of players.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct and model positive behavior.
