Job summary

Juarez-Lincoln High School seeks a dedicated Head Boys Cross Country Coach who will lead the boys cross country program with a focus on endurance, pacing, and competitive success. The role combines teaching responsibilities with high-level coaching, emphasizing discipline, academic accountability, and student-athlete development.

The candidate should bring district coaching experience, TEKS-aligned classroom instruction, and the ability to mentor coaches while coordinating with athletic staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas Teaching Certificate.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
• Completion of all required UIL coaching certifications and compliance trainings.
• Minimum of two years of coaching experience at the secondary level preferred.
• Experience as a head coach or lead assistant preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in cross country, distance running, or endurance training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver standards-aligned instruction in cross country and related athletics.
• Plan, organize, and implement the Juarez-Lincoln High School boys cross country program.
• Develop training cycles, race strategies, and conditioning plans for athletes.
• Mentor assistant coaches and align with middle school cross country programs.
• Ensure compliance with UIL, TEA, La Joya ISD policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, eligibility, and program activities.
