Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in Secondary Special Education and/or Vocational Transition Education/Services.

Responsibilities

• Case management of transition students enrolled in the Winchester Transition Academy.
• Training and supervision of job coaches.
• Develops and maintains working relationships with community businesses.
• Maintains regular communication with parents.
• Coordinates transitional opportunities like field trips and job fairs.
• Consults with students to promote transition readiness.

Skills

Experience in writing standards-based IEPs

Ability to analyze standardized assessments

Knowledge of Connecticut Core Transition Skills

Experience in aligning curriculum with state standards

Experience in developing transition programming

Knowledge of local and state resources

Ability to work well with others

High standards of ethics and integrity

Education

Current Connecticut Teacher Certification (065, 165, or 265)
