Job summary

North Hudson Academy seeks a dedicated High School Science Teacher to join our full-time team. You will work with students ages 3–21 in a NJ-DOE approved private special education setting, focusing on behavioral/emotional needs and autism spectrum learners.

The role requires a Special Education background, appropriate certifications, and experience with disabilities. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive instructional team.

Qualifications

• BA degree or higher in Special Education or Early Childhood Education.
• NJ certification requirements for handicapped/DS and science.
• Experience with children with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out the IEP and instructional program for individual students
• Plan and manage the school’s therapeutic approach to individual and group discipline
• Coordinate and schedule activities with other staff
• Maintain and inventory classroom supplies and instructional materials
• Keep records as required
• Write reports, meet with parents and professionals, and share information for students
• Participate in school meetings and in-service activities
