Job summary

BELA Charter School in Brooklyn seeks a Grade Level Social Worker to provide individual and group counseling, crisis management, and case management for incoming 9th-grade students. The role reports to the Senior Social Worker and supports social-emotional development.

This full-time, 12-month position requires LMSW or LCSW and NY experience; candidate should collaborate with the Student Life Team, teachers, and families, and participate in community events while helping create a restorative

Qualifications

• Master's level social work license (LMSW or LCSW) required/licensed.
• Experience with New York state/city education settings preferred.
• Ability to engage and diffuse crisis situations.
• Capacity to work calmly in dynamic environments and collaborate with staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to 9th-grade students and families.
• Provide crisis management and interventional supports.
• Maintain case notes and documentation promptly.
• Collaborate with Student Life Team and teachers to support student success.
• Participate in community events and orientation activities.
