KIPP Memphis Collegiate High seeks a dedicated Social Studies teacher for a full-time position. The teacher will deliver high-quality, rigorous instruction aligned with the school’s curriculum and foster a college-preparatory culture to support students on their path to and through college.

The role requires active Tennessee licensure in the relevant endorsement, a commitment to underserved students, and experience in urban or charter school environments.

Qualifications

• Active Tennessee state licensure and certification in endorsement matching subject area & grade band
• Commitment to working with educationally underserved students
• Bachelor's degree in education or related field
• Preferred: Masters in education / teaching content area
• Experience teaching in urban school and/or charter network

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study and unit/weekly/daily lessons aligned with the curriculum
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and development
• Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and media
• Implement the school’s philosophy and curriculum
• Use diagnostic assessments to identify learning strengths and needs
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and policy
• Assist admin in implementing policies and rules
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and parents
• Engage in professional development opportunities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education

Active Tennessee state licensure and certification

Bachelor's degree

Masters in education / teaching content area

Experience teaching in urban school and/or charter network
