Position Overview:

Pinckney Community Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Robotics Teacher. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a rigorous, engaging, and student-centered classroom environment, and demonstrate a strong commitment to academic excellence and the personal growth of each student. At Pinckney Community Schools, we prioritize social-emotional learning to support students' growth, resilience, and success. Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and standards-aligned instruction in Robotics to high school students.
  • Develop lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles and differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
  • Design and implement laboratory experiments and hands-on learning experiences that reinforce scientific concepts and promote critical thinking.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, using data to inform instruction.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom culture that promotes student success and respect for all learners.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities to develop interdisciplinary and cross-curricular lessons.
  • Maintain accurate and timely student records in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives, including professional development, school improvement planning, and extracurricular events.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Industrial Technology (IX), and/or Michigan Occupational Education certificate in Industrial Technology (Precision Production Trades General). Individuals with a high school diploma and a minimum of two full years (4,000 hours) of recent and relevant occupational experience (experience is considered recent if it occurred no more than ten years prior to the date of application) and a willingness to work toward the Interim Occupational Certificate will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the following areas: Industrial robot operation (FANUC), Programmable logic controller installation and operation (Allen Bradley, Siemens), Industrial and residential electrical fundamentals, Sensor applications and installation, Electro pneumatic fundamentals, Computer aided manufacturing including CAD/CAM/CNC, and Machine tool operation.
  • Commitment to mentoring students interested in CTE programs and engineering professions and to continued professional growth and training in this field of study.
  • Ability to develop and maintain appropriate relationships and rapport with students, parents and colleagues and a commitment to professional collaboration and communication.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory setting and direct students in the use of all appropriate safety rules and regulations.
  • Experience in designing and facilitating lessons and activities with clear standards-aligned learning targets and success criteria.
  • Ability to effectively assess student learning, implement strategies for student engagement, and promote student ownership of learning.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in establishing a safe, collaborative classroom environment and culture.
  • Experience using the Google platform for classroom learning and communications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous teaching experience at the secondary level.
  • Experience in data-driven instruction and formative assessment practices.
