Job summary

CPS in Chicago seeks a dedicated Teacher to deliver engaging instruction, assess pupil progress, and maintain accurate records. Under the supervision of the principal, you will plan lessons, manage the classroom, and promote a positive learning environment.

You will communicate with parents, participate in in-service meetings, and contribute to after-school activities and field trips as needed. Illinois state certification is required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain the appropriate teaching certificate issued by the Illinois State Board of Education.
• Must possess at least one valid teaching license (PEL or ELS) endorsed for the position.

Responsibilities

• Plan instructional lessons and prepare materials aligned with instructional objectives.
• Evaluate pupil progress and maintain accurate records of achievement.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about academic progress, attendance, and conduct.
• Participate in in-service meetings and professional staff meetings; may coordinate field trips and after-school activities.
