Job summary

Boston Prep, a college-preparatory charter public district in Boston, seeks a High School Physical Education teacher. The role runs 7:15 am to 4:15 pm, teaching four sections daily, with office hours and small-group instruction, collaborating with SpEd/ELL and other specialists to deliver differentiated, data-informed instruction.

You will provide feedback, design standards-aligned curriculum, and communicate with families.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in education or related field is required. Master's degree preferred.
• Valid Massachusetts teaching license in the appropriate subject area.
• Passing MTEL in Communications & Literacy and MTEL in the content area(s) they teach within their first year.
• SEI Endorsement (core academic and special education teachers only) within their first year.

Responsibilities

• Plan for and teach 4 sections per day with regular office hours and SGI blocks.
• Collaborate with SpEd/ELL specialists and other staff to deliver differentiated instruction.
• Provide targeted feedback and use equitable grading practices.
• Design standards-aligned curriculum and data-informed, culturally affirming materials.
• Engage families and school leaders about progress via calls, DeansList, and conferences.
• Lead advisory activities, homeroom duties, and participate in weekly professional development.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment and participate in community-building events.
