Job summary

Nassau BOCES is seeking a New York State Certified Nurse Assisting Teacher (or RN licensed candidate) to support the In-District CTE program at Valley Stream. The successful candidate will educate high school students on infection control, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, vitals, nutrition, geriatrics, CPR, First Aid, and common health issues.

Qualifications

• NYSED Certification: Nurse's Assisting 7-12.
• Active NYS Registered Professional Nurse license.
• At least two years' experience as a Registered Nurse, incl. chronic/elderly care in LTC.
• Willing to pursue NYSED certification if not held.

Responsibilities

• Prepare outlines and detailed lesson plans for CNA exam.
• Deliver hands-on instruction and clinical rotation supervision.
• Incorporate nursing concepts into classroom and clinical lessons.
• Coordinate with local healthcare facilities for clinical experiences for students.
• Maintain classroom supplies and inventory as required.
