Job summary

Liberty Common School seeks a Musical Director to support the spring musical production for the 2026-2027 school year. Rehearsals occur during the class period (2:00-2:45pm daily) with longer Thursday sessions (12:55-2:15) and occasional afternoon/evening tech week rehearsals.

Auditions are scheduled Oct 26-30, 2026. The role is part-time, with a stipend starting at $1,750, and includes PERA retirement contributions and HFWA sick leave.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma; Associate's degree or greater is preferred.
• Experience working with K-12 students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend actor auditions if available, assess singers' vocal ranges and abilities, and help the director cast the show.
• Teach the cast their singing parts, harmonies, and rhythms, ensuring everyone sounds great together.
• Attend a portion of tech week rehearsals to ensure music is solid.
