Job summary

Ponca City Public Schools is seeking a High School Mathematics Teacher for Ponca City High School in Ponca City, Oklahoma. This 10-month contract position starts immediately, with a 7 hour 20 minute school day and a salary of $42,662.24 per year.

Reports to the Building Principal and supervises paraprofessionals, volunteers, and students. Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in assigned subject(s) is required. Position is full-time.

Qualifications

• Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Assigned Subject(s).
• High school mathematics teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to plan and implement lessons aligned with standards.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement classroom procedures to maximize student learning.
• Prepare weekly detailed lesson plans aligned with Oklahoma Academic Standards.
• Comply with IEPs and behavioral/academic interventions.
• Maintain a neat classroom and keep student records organized.
• Discipline students fairly and consistently.
• Help implement district policies and classroom rules.
• Attend required meetings and professional development.
• Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress to parents.
• Provide timely feedback to students and parents; use data to guide instruction.
• Offer individualized and small-group instruction and adapt curriculum as needed.
