Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Connecticut teaching certification in Mathematics (7-12), or an active pathway toward it.
• Strong content knowledge across high school mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and pre-calculus.
• Experience preparing students for college-level math and college admissions exams.
• Classroom management instincts grounded in relationships and high expectations.
• A collaborative spirit and the willingness to be coached.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned math instruction in courses such as Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus, with room to grow into advanced offerings.
• Build students' conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and mathematical reasoning in equal measure.
• Prepare students for high-stakes assessments (SAT, AP, state assessments) without reducing your teaching to test prep.
• Use formative and summative data to identify exactly where students are and design instruction that moves them forward.
• Build a classroom culture where students take mathematical risks, defend their thinking, and learn from each other.
• Collaborate with the math team to align vertical curriculum from algebra through calculus.
• Communicate regularly with families and counselors about student progress and college readiness.
• Participate in weekly professional development and coaching cycles with your dedicated academic coach.
