Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is hiring a high school math assistant teacher to support diverse learners in in-district classrooms and standalone schools.

You will work with a teacher in small groups, reinforce math concepts, monitor progress, and communicate with families while applying SESI’s PBIS framework CASE. Strong candidates have a HS diploma, math knowledge (Algebra–Algebra II), and experience with or willingness to support students with special needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with students with special needs is preferred.
• Strong math knowledge: Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II; higher-level math is a plus.
• Patience and effective communication with students and parents.

Responsibilities

• Lead small group instruction in math.
• Collaborate with teacher to provide customized behavior and academic support.
• Conduct formal and informal assessments, track progress.
• Assign tasks, use data to tailor materials, and provide one-on-one tutorials.
• Assist with large group activities, grading, and accommodations as needed.
• Utilize behavior support and de-escalation techniques to ensure safety.
• Support daily plans and monitor student growth and progress.
