Job summary

Kenowa Hills Public Schools is seeking an energetic HS Health and Physical Education teacher to fill a retirement vacancy at Kenowa Hills High School, starting ASAP for the 2026-2027 school year.

The candidate will deliver a standards-based Health/PE program, align with KISD health curriculum, and participate in PLCs. A Michigan teaching certificate with Health/PE endorsements is required; strength and conditioning background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid State of Michigan teaching certificate with Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (MA/MX) endorsement for high school.
• Certification: valid State of Michigan teaching certificate with Health (MA) and/or Physical Education (MB/MX) endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized, student-centered instruction in Health and PE.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Prepare course objectives and outlines following district guidelines and RefReps requirements.
• Observe and evaluate student performance in health literacy and fitness.
• Maintain safety and management procedures in gym and classroom settings.
• Record attendance and grades as required by the district.
• Collaborate with staff and district consultants to improve curriculum.
