Responsibilities

• Coaching the Freshmen squad.
• Guiding the freshmen program.
• Implements district athletic department policies.
• Collaborates with the MSD Athletic Director, Athletic Coordinator and Principal.
• Communicates the high school game schedule.
• Manages travel arrangements for out-of-town trips.
• Verifies student physicals and Family ID requirements.
• Supervises students during travel to away competitions.
• Cares for athletes and injured athletes.
• Oversees equipment and uniforms storage and maintenance.
• Prepares award lists and season records.
• Attends state meetings and adheres to MSD policies.
• Keeps informed on sport trends and attends clinics.
• Maintains professional memberships and networking.
• Fosters positive relationships with other coaches.
• Performs other duties as assigned by MSD Athletic Director/Principal.
• Communicates with players about development during and off-season.
• Holds parent meetings on sportsmanship.
• Promotes the program to encourage participation for upcoming seasons.
• Enforces student discipline during contests, practices, and trips.

Job Description

Assumes responsibility for the entire program which includes:

• Coaching theFreshmen squad.
• Giving guidance to thefreshmenprogram.

• Communication of travel for out-of-town trips.

• Remains with students and supervises them while traveling to away competitions.
• Cares for athletes and injured athletes.
• Cares for, maintains and oversees the storage of all equipment and uniforms.
• Prepares award lists and season records.
• Attends all state meetings where the program is involved and operates within the policies of the MSD.
• Keeps informed on current trends in your sport and attends and participates in clinics in your sport.
• Maintains active membership in related professional organizations.
• Maintains a positive staff relationship with other coaches.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the MSD Athletic Director/Athletic Coordinator and Principal to inform them about the program as well as your expectations of them and the players.
• Communicates with players about personal development during the season as well as the off-season.
• Holds meetings with parents regarding sportsmanship.
• Promotes the high school program by encouraging participation of players of the upcoming season.
• Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on trips off school property in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
